In question 3.7:

1. Are we looking for strategies which are pure or mixed (or either)?
2. "… without looking at the other loads": loads = "q"s? This means player's strategy does not depend on the "q"s of the other players, correct?
3. The bits are unsplittable, right? i.e. we cannot assign 0.5 bit to band 1 and 0.5 to band 2?

2. the strategy of each agent is independent of the other agents (their q's, their strategies)
3. right, but you can interpret a mixed strategy as "splitting" the bits.

Also, in 3.7, what does it mean for strategies to "together minimize the makespan"?

• When executed, they always achieve the optimal makespan?
• The expected makespan is optimal?
• The expected makespan is minimal among all strategies with properties (1) and (3) (equilibrium and not depending on the other loads)?
